3M Speedglas Welding Helmets in Thailand
Next-Gen Welding Protection
Welding fumes are an unavoidable by-product of welding work. While elimination, substitution, and procedural controls can reduce risks, they rarely eliminate exposure completely. That’s why implementing high-quality product controls is critical in protecting your workforce.
Across Asia, and particularly in Thailand, welding helmets with integrated Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) are becoming the standard for professional respiratory protection. Due to updated safety regulations, many companies are now required to provide advanced respiratory systems for their welders.
At Air Repair Thailand, we offer the complete range of 3M™ Speedglas™ welding helmets equipped with the Adflo™ PAPR system – trusted worldwide for its comfort, safety, and reliability in high-risk environments.

3M Speedglas PAPR Welding Helmets
What are powered air respirators?
A PAPR welding helmet provides superior respiratory protection by supplying filtered air to the welder through a powered system. This enhances comfort, productivity, and safety compared to traditional helmets, making it ideal for various welding environments.
A PAPR welding helmet works by using a battery-powered blower to draw air through a high-efficiency filter, then pushes it into the helmet at a positive pressure. This creates a clean breathing zone around the welder's face, preventing harmful fumes and particles from entering. The helmet often has an auto-darkening lens for eye protection during welding, and the entire system is designed to provide superior respiratory and eye protection in welding environments.
Industries with high exposure to welding fumes and particles, such as shipbuilding, construction, manufacturing, and automotive repair, will benefit most from PAPR welding helmets. These industries often involve confined spaces or poor ventilation, making respiratory protection crucial. PAPR helmets offer superior protection compared to traditional respirators, enhancing worker safety and productivity in these demanding environments.
Welding generates harmful metal fumes containing various toxic substances. These fumes can be inhaled, leading to severe short and long-term health issues if not properly controlled. The specific risks depend on the metals being welded, the fume concentration, and exposure duration, emphasizing the importance of effective respiratory protection for welders.
Welding fumes are highly dangerous and can cause a variety of health issues. Short-term exposure can lead to irritation and respiratory problems, while long-term exposure is linked to severe lung damage, various cancers, and other chronic illnesses. The specific risks depend on the type of metal being welded and the welding process used. Welders must take precautions to minimize exposure, including using proper ventilation and respiratory protection.
To minimise welding fume exposure, clean welding surfaces, position oneself upwind or utilise ventilation, explore less toxic alternatives, and always wear appropriate respiratory protection. Employers must provide training and information about hazards and protective measures.
